We had him cantering after five months but only because of the sea (being nearby) and that's the first time he galloped on the level and we do controlled exercise with him going uphill instead. He is very free going and can be bold and is highly strung but suits a small yard. He walks around the yard all day long but we don't let him out on the field because we're afraid he'd gallop. He'd a lot of work done coming here but he'd prefer better ground. Ms M Flynn, trainer

The Stewards interviewed B.J. Geraghty, rider of Blue Et Rouge(FR), concerning his riding in the home straight, when he appeared to stop riding when racing in 3rd place before the last and was subsequently beaten into 4th place by half a length. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who explained that his charge had choked turning for home, which he had reported as required under Rule 213. He said him mount was very tired thereafter on what he described as very testing ground conditions and felt the only way he could get his mount to finish was to allow him time to fill his lungs and felt had he not have done this, his mount would not have finished. Blue Et Rouge (FR) was examined by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer at the request of the Stewards, who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered
