Slatterys' newcomer a Jolt for Gowran punters
He is a nice horse, but I thought he would improve for the run. We thought he was good enough to run in open maidens rather than auction ones. I’ll talk to the owners now and see where we go from here. David Halley and his wife Rachael own him and I don’t know if he’ll be sold now as they are sellers. Hopefully he’ll step up to stakes company and he'll stay a mile.

Kodiac Prince strikes for the Clearys
We were expecting it. In Killarney the last day he was just brought wide at the wrong time and had three or four lengths to make up. He was only beaten half-a-length in the end and so we were just unlucky there. He was in on Wednesday at Limerick where it was good to firm but turned out soft. I was wondering did we do the wrong thing after that, but it worked out anyway. . He runs well around Gowran Park and he deserved it as he has been running well this year. Rory has him off to a tee and it was good that he was free to ride. . He is better than ever this year and hasn't had a bad run. He is improving with age, like myself!
Chimeric a Father's Day winner for Levins
A mile and one is probably his ideal trip, but we sacrifice that for Gowran because he loves it here. He is very rarely out of the first five here. Every time we see a meeting here, we always look for a race for him. I'm delighted for his owners, Mark and David Hopkins. They are a father and son from Cork and are big supporters of the yard. It's brilliant to give everyone a winner on father's day. . He won in Newcastle earlier this year. It's a good stiff track and when they get racing early there the pace collapses. He gives away ground at the start and is always a late closer. He is a prisoner to a fast pace, if he doesn't get a fast pace, he doesn't get there. Newcastle really suited him and this place does as well.
Smooth success for Sea Spray
He did very well, he was going around there with his ears pricked and was as happy as Larry. He stayed going well and might be well-handicapped. He has always shown us plenty but he just hadn’t quite got his act together. The first lot have gone over and they are all well. Givemethebeatboys, Irish Lullaby, Villanova Queen and Supersonic Man are all there now. I'm going over tomorrow to the sales and then racing Tuesday and probably Thursday and Friday as well. I'm in great form and couldn’t be better.
