Outsider Percy springs 25/1 surprise
He (Davy Russell) gave him a great ride and made up his mind for him going up the back the second time. He takes a good strong ride and Paul (Townend) was very good on him at Listowel the last day and when he wasn't available, I wanted to get someone like that to ride him. It was definitely a career best for the horse and he is improving and stays really well. He probably outstayed them today and is a horse to look forward to. He wouldn't want the ground too heavy but the Dorans Pride Hurdle back here over Christmas would be an obvious race for him. There's no reason why he won't jump a fence in time either.

The Gatechecker follows-up on Listowel success
He is not an easy horse but he was sweet today and Mark (Walsh) said he was a great ride today when he threw the reins at him. He said when he got upsides, he jumped into the bridle. He just gets fired up and then doesn't know what to do. He gets so revved up he doesn't want to go anywhere. We'll try and find another three miles handicap hurdle next and with him, you're better off in a worse race with a better jockey. Pauline a French girl who works for me, really gets on well with him. He hasn't stopped at the bottom of the gallop since she started riding him; she throws the reins at him and is kind to him.
Elliott & Russell complete Limerick doubles
Davy Condon does a sterling job with this horse at home; he can be difficult and Davy is the only one who rides him. He has run to his mark there, beating the second rated 142 rated horse giving him 2lbs. It was a lovely opportunity for him and he has won a nice race there.
