Wakanda springs a surprise in Sligo opener

Oscar gets Reilly off the mark
My father (Liam Reilly), who has since passed on, trained her to win a bumper. She never got her ground last year and she needs good ground. I threw her in here. She was third reserve in Roscommon last week. This looked a better handicap and she was a pound out of the handicap today but we said we would take our chance.
Leg gets off the mark

Hanlon gets welcome winner
Abolitionist provided 'Shark' Hanlon with a welcome winner in the first division of the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle at Sligo. Andrew McNamara drove his mount into the lead before the second last and he stuck on well in the closing stages.
