An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching three and a half furlongs out involving the winner, Rose King (IRE), ridden by Dale Swift and Smasher (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Carson.
Swift was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had made insufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting left-handed when not fully clear of Smasher (IRE), which caused Carson to take a check when left short of room on the rail.
Approximately one furlong after the start, a free running Smasher (IRE), unplaced, lugged left-handed away from the winner, Rose King (IRE), causing Mick Says No (IRE), unplaced, to be steadied when tightened up for racing room, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching four furlongs out when the leaders steadied the pace a very free running Mick Says No (IRE), unplaced, ran onto the heels of the winner Rose King (IRE) and shifted sharply right-handed badly hampering Less Is More (GB), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately three and a half furlongs out, Just A Spark (GB), placed second, ran onto the heels of Smasher (IRE), unplaced, and shifted quickly right-handed hampering Mick Says No (IRE), unplaced, which in turn carried Less Is More (GB), placed third, wider off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Just A Spark (GB).
Inside the final furlong, Less Is More (GB), placed third, hung sharply left-handed, hampering Smasher (IRE), and also slightly inconvenienced Originally (IRE), placed fourth.
But after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the finishing position of Less Is More (GB).
Following the race Graham Lee reported that Less Is More (GB), placed third, hung left-handed under pressure; Aidan Keeley reported that Mick Says No (IRE), unplaced, ran too free, Callum Shepherd reported that Scramble (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed rounding the home turn and William Carson reported that the bit slipped through the mouth of Smasher (IRE), unplaced.
