Duffle Coat wraps up another hurdle victory
Jack Kennedy said they didn't go very quick and it didn't suit him,. He said a faster gallop would have suited him but I told him just to follow the other horse and not take it up. I think a better race will suit him. He just does what he has to at home but is after winning by a few lengths at the line there. It turned into a sprint but from the last to the line he was good. He's winning and that's all that matters. There is a winners of two at Punchestown and at Down Royal. We might even think of Wetherby as there is a Listed race there.
Hanlon eyes big pot for Dime A Dozen
She's very consistent, she's never been out of the first three and that's her sixth win. Good ground is a big thing for her. On her last two runs over fences the ground got soft both days. Both times I told him to ride her as well as you can but don't kill her. She's qualified for the Red Mills race at Punchestown worth €75,000 in two or three weeks time, or she could go chasing. If I'm not happy, though, she'll go chasing as she's one for next summer. The minute the ground goes she'll be gone. All my horses are the same, the minute the sun stops shining I'm afraid I'll stop shining!
Lignou strikes as Native crashes out
He won two bumpers in France but when he came to us his movement was very ordinary,. I think the long time off has done him a lot of good. He didn't jump before but it's better now. It's hard to know what would have happened with Gordon's horse but that's the way it is. The handicapper shouldn't do much with his mark after that. I'd imagine he'll run in a handicap next. He might be able to come back to two miles on softer ground. I thought he had come on from Navan and the girl that rides him out all the time thought he had come on a good bit. He wasn't cheap (€120,000) when he was bought in Deauville. It's taken a while to get it out of him.

Easy for Game in PWC
Paul was allowed to dictate and he made use of that,. The horse jumped fantastic, he made one major error and one minor error. He loved the ground. I'm very happy for Nick Peacock. It good that Gowran were able to put on two days with good prize-money in this current climate. I have to thank today's sponsors PWC and the EBF for putting on two fillies races yesterday with almost €20,000 to the winner. We could look at the John Durkan and the Clonmel Oil with the winner while the second season chase in Down Royal might be the best option.
Shanroe Al C delights Thornton in Gowran
He's a horse that I've always thought the world of. I actually brought him to the sales and no-one wanted to buy him. A cousin of mine won a point-to-point with him and to be honest I didn't pull him out too many times!. He's a grand horse and chasing is his game. He doesn't do an awful lot when he hits the front. He's a real professional and jumped super. He probably got there too soon but said he had to. He gave him a squeeze, he came alive and got there too soon. He's a horse that they will have a lot of fun with. He wasn't right last year. When he won in Tipperary he actually got a screw up into his foot and was on a heap of antibiotics and just wasn't right. He actually ran well at Navan on bottomless but I'd say he won't go on extreme ground. We'll see how he is when we get him home and go from there.
Meade and Flanagan double up with Brace Yourself
He promised to be a good horse one time and hopefully he'll get back there,. He had a little bit of an issue with a hind leg which held him up. Last season was a bit of a non event as nothing went right for him. He seemed to like that goodish ground, he's a Mahler and a lot of them do. Two-and-a-half miles is his minimum. We jumped when he needed him, when he sent him down he jumped, so that was good.
