Approximately ½ a furlong after the start, the winner, Kaaress (IRE), which was running freely, had to be checked to avoid the heels of Storm Alice (GB), placed fourth, after its rider had steadied the pace up front, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference passing the ½ furlong marker, involving Catena (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Rob Hornby and On Borrowed Time (GB), placed second, ridden by Christian Howarth.
Howarth was cautioned for careless riding as he had permitted his mount to lug right-handed, without sufficient correction, causing Catena (IRE) to be briefly hampered.
