Quick-witted Keane wins on San Aer
I thought I'd have won a maiden with him before now and Colin liked him there and said he'd improve from it. He hasn't run for a while so I was worried and the softening ground told on his fitness as Colin said he took a blow a furlong down. I'm hoping there is improvement there and he could go jumping. Colin said he loves the softer ground.
First win for Fahey's Faithful Prince
they went a nice good gallop early on and it took a while for the penny to drop with him but he got to the front well and idled a bit when he got there. He held on nicely for me. His runs this year have been respectable and hopefully they can get another win with him.
Cleary completes 89/1 double on father's horse
He was badly hampered in Listowel the last day and he probably wants the ground that bit softer, which we had today. I was delighted when I saw puddles of water coming down and we stepped him up to the mile with cheek-pieces on so it all helped. There are one or two options coming up soon and if we have soft ground, we'll run. He didn't have many runs this year as he had a small injury and I didn't rush him back. He is a good type of horse and it paid off that we had patience. The owners, (ex-trainer) Matty and Helena O'Toole, from Galway, have great patience and left it to myself.
