Well backed Stack newcomer wins opener
he's a nice horse and has always worked well. It didn't work out ideal when he nearly hit the gates too well and was a little keen early on and Wayne (Lordan) said he was looking at the crowd. He is the kind of horse when you show him something once, he is better the second time. He's very relaxed at home even though he didn't show that today and while he has an entry for the National Stakes, has a few bridges to cross before that and could come back here for the Anglesey Stakes.
Fountain springs a surprise for Ballydoyle
I was running him over the wrong distances obviously when we were trying to get a mile with him. We tried to make him get a mile on heavy ground and that was probably like running over a mile and a quarter so it was a big disadvantage what we were trying to do.
British raider scurries to big sprint success
that's my first winner in Ireland and both my horses today ran excellent races. It's a great prize to win. We've always had a lot of confidence in him but from last year he needed to mature so we castrated him over the winter. Before Monsieur Joe won at York he (Line Of Reason) did the best piece of work I've rode him and I knew when the ground dried up that, when he got a fast pace that there was a big race in him. We might go for William Hill Sprint now and he could go for a few of those big six furlong handicaps.
Kompany gets back on track in the Railway
he only had one disappointing run (at Royal Ascot last week when finishing 12th in the Coventry Stakes) but I spoke to Richard Hannon this morning and he said 'don't mind his run in the Coventry, things didn't work out and he ran too keen' and the only anxious moments I had today were in the stalls when he got very worked up. He put the race to bed quickly between the two (furlong marker) and the one and he was only getting going at the line. I can't see why he won't get seven furlongs and he is bred to stay.
Australia completes Derby double
I thought they both stayed well . the second horse (Kingfisher) wasn't stopping and the third (Orchestra) stayed well too but is still a bit weak and might be a better four year old.
Murtagh's Mutual wins on Irish debut
we thought he was a nice horse and he loves fast ground. He missed an intended run at Cork recently but he did work extremely well during the week and Ross gave him a great ride and I'm delighted for him. He's well bred and from a very good Moyglare family and I think he could be on a similar path to Royal Diamond, who lost out on the Ebor by a neck and I think he (Mutual Regard) could also fit into the Ebor.
O'Brien completes Curragh treble
Joseph said he loves the fast ground and you have to hold on to him as he loves cover. When he pulled him out, Joseph thought he'd win four or five lengths but in the end he just won.
Apprentice Sparkles with big day double
it was a competitive handicap and she battled well. The rider gave her a strong drive and she'll go for something similar next.
