Heck Thomas wins Leopardstown's opener
he could be a nice enough horse and is a chaser more than anything. It's late enough in the season to be winning a maiden and obviously he has to improve a lot to be anything special and we'll see what the handicapper does with him. He wants easy ground and wouldn't run on good; I'm looking at him more as a chaser for next season.

Kid-gloves used by 'Slippers' in McManus 1-2
he (Sir Scorpion) had no weight on his back and my horses are well at the moment. He should come on again from that run as it was his first handicap and we'll probably aim him at Fairyhouse and Punchestown.

Do Be Doin' wins 'on one of his better days'
he's a bit of an enigma but he's always shown us a bit. He's just been struggling with the weights. The last day we thought we had him in good shape but some days he does it and some days he doesn't; today was one of his better days!. We had to take the 5lb off him (Luke Dempsey's claim) to give him every chance and Luke is a man on fire. He gave him a peach of a ride and he jumped like a stag. Everything fired today.
Newcomer helps Tom Mullins to Dublin double
he's a nice big horse and could go jumping or on the Flat next. He has loads of ability and did an exceptional bit of work during the week; I told a few people to back him and couldn't believe he was still 6/1. Anyone who has ridden him says he wants good ground but we'll find out as we go along. He could run in the Champion Bumper at Punchestown next.
