Belfast Banter enjoys the Galway craic
Fourth Galway win for Pakens Rock
We have nothing in mind for him and he likes this place and Thurles so we'll see how he is in the morning and make a plan. I have around four, five horses and have a great team of lads with me; Kevin Heffernan, who is a trainer himself, my brother Richard, Andrew Flaherty who rides him out every day, Conor Heany and James Duggan, a young amateur who comes in from Pat Kelly's. I keep the numbers small and what we have runs well and that's the way we plan to do it. For the amount of horses I have, I'm spoiled! . We're finished at 9.30am every day.
Mighty Tom delivers for Coopers
We've always liked him, he is a forward going type and it was 2m4f the last day and he was just collared on the run-in and we knew he'd improve. We were very confident coming here today and he has a gear. He is very good, I think he'd be better going the other way and hopefully dad can hold on to him now. We won this race ten years ago with The Shepherd King in the same colours.
Agent Boru ends long losing spell
he is a tricky customer and does his own thing. It was going to happen one day we just didn't know when and he'd go on any ground. We'll look for something similar and he'll go back over fences too.
Sexton doubles up on 50/1 A Girl Like Me
I'm thrilled for the owners (Maria Hinfelaar and her husband Graham Upton) who are great people, have been with me a long time and it is unfortunate they couldn't be here. The plan for her (A Girl Like Me) is to mix between hurdles and fences and hopefully she can give us another day out please god.
Burke has plenty to work with in Gordon Dai Dai
I didn't know what to expect out of him to be honest as I had nothing done with him on grass and never had him away anywhere. He is a fair beast because he was very green. He was desperate green and he (Tom Feeney) said he had to let him go a bit because he didn't know what was going on. Any horse that'll run to the line here isn't a bad one. He has plenty of size, is a very honest horse but I didn't know what to expect today. That's the owner's (William MacDonald) second bumper winner here recently and he has been lucky for me. In fairness he is a long time sitting on these horses since they were yearlings, so it is great to get winners for him as he is a great owner.
