Cheltenham prep pays dividends for Scarpeta at Thurles
It's not often we go to Cheltenham to school one for Thurles but that's what happened here. He jumped way better today and going a slower speed against lesser opposition gave him great confidence,. We'll look for something similar at Fairyhouse or Punchestown but if a race like this comes up down the country we'll take that as well. He was disappointing on the flat for us last year but this year might be different. We'll find races for him and he can go on good ground.
Murray and Flanagan strike again
Cubomania wins dramatic Pierce Molony Memorial
Easy-to-back Rome wins on his 1st start since November
He would need another mile,. He ran well at Cork for a novice and he didn't as such make mistakes there but horses fell in front of him over the final three fences, otherwise he'd have been close. Of course we were very clever by leaving him off after the first week in November because it was going to be soft from then on, which didn't happen, but maybe it's all for luck!. There is hardly a low enough class race at Fairyhouse or Punchestown for him but where ever we think he has a chance of winning that's where we'll go.
Purcell's great servant puts a chase win on the board
He's a right little horse but we we were away from Clonmel today!. He needs fast ground and my horses are in great order. We'll tip away with him for the summer in novices and he could also go back hurdling and on the Flat too. We'll run in whatever comes up and suits once we get fast ground.
Dewcup delivers at the 2nd time of asking
Her owner Michael Ryan had the mother, father, brother, sister - the lot, and this horse's mother Elyaadi was placed twice at Royal Ascot. It is a lovey family,. He is a fine big horse, I was disappointed with him at Leopardstown when he probably needed the run and I didn't mind him getting beat, I didn't think he'd be beaten 20 lengths. I said we'd have another try here today and Michael gave him a lovely ride, he loved the ground and quickened up well. He might go to Liverpool (Aintree) to run in the bumper next as Michael is a great Liverpool man.
