Jordan Canavan rode his second winner in Ireland and his third overall when getting there just in time on Iconic Lady (7/1) in the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Thurles.
A big shock looked in prospect at stages from the penultimate flight with Brog Ahaon (100s into 80s) shaping like a possible winner.
Chivari (25/1 - 28/1 - 22/1) narrowly headed Brog Ahaon on the run-in but she was trumped on the line by the Martin Cullinane-owned and Robert Tyner-trained Iconic Lady.
A head and a neck were the margins at the line.
Unfortunately the victorious Germany mare was very lame in the aftermath.
J.C. Canavan, rider of Iconic Lady trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Kolumbus trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
