Tarawa shows a turn of foot in Foxrock
She was impressive and she's a lovely filly to look forward to for next year. The plan would be to start back in one of the classic trials here next spring. She's a filly with a lot of pace, Chris rode her with great confidence which was the plan — to ride her for speed. She'd probably never be a firm ground filly, but I had a concern that it might be too testing for her. My only concern was if the ground was a little bit heavy it would take her speed away, but she's very adaptable and she handled it well. She's a big strong filly and hopefully she'll progress over the winter. We'll look forward to her being a group filly next year. The first day in Cork the ground was deep and she got tired at the furlong pole, but she learned from it. I thought she'd be hard to beat today.
Mohawk Chief well up for a battle
A delightful double for O'Brien and Heffernan
Power Under Me sweeps home for Listed glory over new trip
Ger is beating himself up saying that we were running him over the wrong trip, but I wouldn't take that too literally. He won over six at the start of the season and he's just very ground dependent. He's been a bit disappointing in his last couple of runs and we said we'd give him one last throw of the dice and step him up. We thought if he gets the trip he has the ability to be a good horse on that ground and it duly happened. He looked impressive there as they went hard and he has enough pace to sit in the box seat and pick them off. It opens things up for next season. We'll look at the start of the season and the end of the season on softer or slower ground. Now we can go any trip. We're delighted and delighted to get Colin one.
Saltonstall delights McGuinness with his ninth victory
I don't know what to say about this fella, he's just a legend,. The young fella was very good on him today, he was stone last when he jumped. They went a good gallop and it suited him. He just grows another leg on this ground. He's just a brilliant horse to have, he's so popular and he never runs a bad race. I'm going to Newmarket this week, but I don't know what money I'd need to find a horse like him. It's great for the lads, we'll rock on again next year and probably go back for a Lincoln and do the same thing again. He still has his old spark, especially on soft ground. Adam is a good kid and he doesn't panic, that's for sure. He's good value for the 7lb and I probably won't have it for that long.
Speirling Beag springs 25/1 surprise in Eyrefield Stakes
Keane annexes double with King Arthurs Sword
It's been a long time coming for him. He's had his issues. Colin was good on him. He travelled well, the horse that was second was hard to get past but Colin said he was good going to the line. He's in again on Wednesday (at the Curragh) so we'll see how he is. He had a wind issue before and we got that done, that was stopping him. On that ground today Colin said he was perfect and he said he ran through the line strong and would go further. We'll probably give him a flick over hurdles again.
