Joe Leavy, who had been declared to ride King Of Angels (IRE), trained by Hugo Palmer, had refused to do so after weighing out.
The rider, the Starter, the Stalls Team Leader and the Stalls Handler were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, Leavy explained that the colt had been very fractious at the start and reared on several occasions behind the stalls, before continuing to be unruly in the stalls when repeatedly rearing, causing him to be unseated.
For these reasons, Leavy indicated that he had become concerned for his safety and was not prepared to ride the colt due to its behaviour.
His explanation was accepted.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Brastias (FR), placed sixth, was denied a clear run for some distance, approaching the final furlong.
