An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner Vintage Clarets (GB), ridden by Oisin Orr, COUNT D’ORSAY (IRE), placed third, ridden by Duran Fentiman and Manila Scouse (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Jason Hart.
Orr was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his horse to drift marginally right-handed causing slight interference to Manila Scouse (GB) and COUNT D’ORSAY (IRE).
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Wen Moon (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jonny Peate and trained by Ben Haslam, which finished seventh, beaten a nose for sixth place.
Peate was shown recordings of the race, and he explained that Wen Moon (IRE) had lost its action and was hanging left- handed in the closing stages, so he therefore felt it prudent to ease and keep the gelding balanced which caused him to lose sixth place.
This however was not reported by the rider at Scales when weighing in.
Peate was found in breach of rule (G)17 and fined £140 under rule (G)17.
Jonny Peate was fined £140 for failing to report that Wen Moon (IRE), unplaced, lost its action following the race.
Following the race, Craig Lidster reported that Dickieburd (GB), placed sixth, was unsuited by the going, officially described as Heavy on this occasion and would prefer a quicker surface.
