Televised Thurles begins with hurdle win for Politesse
I'm absolutely delighted. She came out of her bumper no problem and to be honest it didn't take very much out of her. She's done a lot of schooling, I didn't know if inexperience would tell today but I think what she's shown today is that she is very talented. I'm delighted to have gotten her out today. We could have kept her for bumpers but, especially when you see what is going on in the world, sometimes it better just to get on with it. She's over hurdles now, she's won, and she has her novice status until the Hatton's Grace meeting. I always take stock about what our next plan is but that will have brought her on a ton anyway and it's what she needed. I'm delighted for the owners, delighted for everybody and delighted racing has gone ahead. Conor has ridden her a lot at home, knows her well, and I think it has to help when they know a horse and know the stride on them. You have to use that stride with her. She's clever and at home she always looks at what's she's doing. It was her first time jumping hurdles in a crowd, in a race, and she is smart enough that she would have got it as she went along. That will bring her on so much. She's that kind of filly and everything she's done she's come on and on. She's bright, takes it in and moves to the next step. I'm very very lucky to have her and I know that. On everything she's shown us so far I think we can be a little bit ambitious with her. Ground wise that was lovely for her, on the easier side of soft. If God willing racin

My Newbrook Rose causes 20/1 upset
the last day the ground was very heavy and she didn't act on it at all. I thought she'd run well today as she had a nice run here in a maiden so I was expecting her to step up a bit. That's her first time to run over this trip on the track and I wasn't too worried about it as she'd won over three miles in a point-to-point before. We'll look for something similar. We'll go for another hurdle anyway and she could jump a fence next year.
David Mullins gains appropriate feature race win
we were a bit unlucky the last day when he tipped up with a novicey fall and the tables have turned today as we had a bit of luck. It's great, he jumped around and put it back together again. Fingers crossed now we can keep it going and he could have a nice finish off to the back of the season as a novice. He jumped straight and to be fair the last day it was probably his best round of jumping up to the fall. He learned from the fall and especially today when he went to the last, he had a good head of steam down to it and he was able to sit up and pop. He's learning and so are we. It's a big monkey off David's back to come back here and do that in a big race today, a Grade 3 race especially at Thurles with the Molonys. It's a great race to win with the Mullins' being so close to the Molonys over the years. It's a proud moment to win that race.
Conditional Jockeys' leader returns to winning ways
I thought he had a place chance today but thought maybe the handicapper had a hold of him. He won three for us and went up a good slap for those few wins. Then we ran him a couple of times over hurdles thinking he was well handicapped but he's just obviously a better chaser. I had said to Darragh to drop in about fourth or fifth, he thought there was going to be plenty of pace but then at the start no-one wanted to go on so he took the bull by the horns and let him roll on rather than disappointing him by trying to hold him up. At the end of the day you have to leave it to the jockey once he's out there. Trip and probably better ground than he's been running on made a difference. He's probably more of a spring horse or maybe better ground again.
Family success for connections of Thermistocles
JJ said that the horse learned and he also learned a lot from him the last day. He said rather than commit him like he did the last time he just waited today. For a novice he jumped very well and it was just nice to see him get his head back in front again.
Newcomer wins bumper for Crawford brothers
it's lovely for Steven; he rang me before to go to Sedgefield one day and the horse won. He rang me about this lad during the week and I was delighted to ride him for him. He's not too bad I'd say. He's a very very nice horse, he's done his job and he was plenty green enough down the straight. He'll improve nicely from that as well. Steven has done a great job with him.
