Permission was given for Dubai Welcome (GB) and SCILLANTE to wear a red hood to post and for Croeso Cymraeg (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood and to be mounted on the chute.
The Starter reported that Renardeau (GB) was very reluctant to enter the stalls.
Ali Stronge was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, El Jasor (IRE), ridden by Jamie Spencer interfered with Valsad (IRE), placed second, ridden by William Buick.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved El Jasor (IRE)’s placing as the colt appeared to be travelling better than Valsad when the interference occurred and was gaining the upper hand to win by an extending neck at the line.
Spencer was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed El Jasor (IRE) to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, taking Valsad (IRE) off its intended line.
The winner, El Jasor (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at York on 14 July 2023 where the colt finished ninth of 13 runners, beaten 7 ¼ lengths.
Charlie Fellowes’ representative’s explanation that the colt had benefitted from the step up in trip to 1 mile 4 furlongs from 1 mile 2 furlongs, was noted.
El Jasor (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Dubai Welcome (GB), placed fifth, ran too free and the Veterinary Officer reported that Enochdhu (FR), unplaced, had lost its right-fore shoe.
