Double Scores saunters in at Limerick
It was a weak race and he'll stay going during the summer in handicaps and novices. He'll also jump a fence sooner rather than later. He hasn't been the easiest to train and has had lots of problems but he has won now and that's the main thing.
Stolberg justifies support for local yard
He wants a lot further but on that ground it's plenty far enough for him. He's had lots of problems with wind, heart, legs and everything but is in the top of his health at the minute. He's entered for Cork on Monday but I won't run him. I might try to win another hurdle with him but he'll be going jumping fences shortly and will stay going for the summer. That was Jonathan's first ride for me and he's a good lad.
Tongie scores again at Limerick
Ice Cool was travelling well when he fell but it was still a nice bit out and Tongie didn't give in when the other two (runner-up and third) came to him. We were going to go chasing but I think we did the right thing by staying over hurdles and we can look forward to fences next season. His jumping is now getting very accurate and he could run in a race like the Martinstown Handicap Hurdle Final at the Punchestown Festival.
Splaine on the mark with Vinnie
I don't know what the problem was but he was really disappointing the last 12 months. I always thought he should be fairly decent but he seems to have come to himself now. His owners (Martin and Mary Fleming) should have plenty more fun with him and he's a big horse who will run away for the summer. He'll go chasing at some stage but will go for another handicap hurdle next.
Sneaky another good result for Punters
The race at Leopardstown came a bit early for him but the form is there and it was a very good bumper run in a very fast time. He's a fabulous big horse who can do anything and if the right offer came in, he'd be sold - every horse has a price! I'm delighted for his owner, my neighbour Paddy Rogers (Grange Racing Syndicate).
O'Brien doubles up with Articulum
That was unreal and I'm absolutely thrilled. I'd say he's the best horse I've trained. I haven't trained many good horses but he seems to have everything. I think he could be serious and the real deal. He always showed us that at home.
