Rose gets off mark over jumps
Chukka does family proud
He's a nice horse and won his point-to-point impressively in the spring,. I wanted to go to the track with him to help the family as (owner) Ann (Smurfit) has the mare and I have all the brothers and sisters at home. We needed to boost the pedigree and I thought he would win at some stage. He did it well. He's not easy to train and had to have acupuncture last week. His chassis is a bit strange.
Steviemac racks up hat-trick
He's turned into a nice horse. He had plenty of weight today but did it well,. He tends to idle a bit in front. Paddy likes him a lot. He'll get an entry in what used to be the Pierse Hurdle and it depends what weight he gets. Whether he would be good enough for that I don't know. There is another race for him at Leopardstown over Christmas but he'd hardly go for the both of them. Chasing is probably his job down the road.
Farringdon makes winning return
It's his first actual run since January as he was injured in running at Cheltenham,. It's absolutely wonderful to get a winner for Peter Savill, who is a neighbour of ours. This is the only horse he has in training in Ireland. We'll find a suitable race for him over Christmas. He loves this ground. It was his first time over 2m2f and he could even step up in distance. For two to have won this week is mega stuff for me.
Tara cosy winner of beginners chase
He will not do a stroke in front. He'll gallop all over them and travel well but he's the same at home, he just pulls himself up in front,. He jumped well and travelled sweetly. We decided to do this instead of going something over Christmas. He'll probably go to Leopardstown on January 10th for a Grade 2 there.
Casey times it well on Dancer
David rode him in Mallow and said to bring him back to two miles - he was right,. He thinks he will improve again when the ground dries out in the spring. We'll skip Christmas with him and looks for a race in the New Year. We'll try and keep him to two miles or two-and-a-quarter.
