Gunner wins again on hurdling debut

We definitely fancied him today. He had done plenty of schooling since he won at Clonmel and he jumped very well. We might go for a novice with him at Galway next. I wouldn't rule out running him over a mile and a half on the flat either.

Afatcat bounces back to his best

This is a grand horse but was disappointing on his comeback run. My horses had been running flat though and we did every test but everything came back clean. They had been working as well as ever but were just running bad. I'd like to run him (Afatcat) over the fences at Liverpool some time in a race like the Topham.

Treacy hangs on to score aboard Fort

He travels well in his races and has plenty pace. Two miles will be no problem when he goes chasing. He ran on softish ground in the winter but probably shouldn't have run and he'll stay hurdling now until the handicapper gets hold of him.

it didn’t look likely at one stage but the runner-up probably ran a bit free. It was a good run as the second is probably a good horse. He’ll probably go for the two and a half mile novice hurdle at Galway and he doesn’t owe anyone anything now: he’ll come up a hill after that!

Xsquared records win number six

we’re a group of four retired maths lecturers from DIT and this is our only horse. We’ll talk to Peter (Fahey) about plans but he could go to Killarney next and could also run back on the flat.

We're having a great time at present but I thought the ground was going to be too fast for him. I was told the chase track was well watered though and it worked in our favour and he stays all day. I was letting both my horses (the winner and Capture The Drama) off but ran the other one at Clonmel yesterday and he was just empty. I was being greedy running (Change The Rules) but am going on holidays tomorrow and needed to put something into the bank before I go!
