Tomeric sticks to his task well in Roscommon
He did it well and toughed it out. We were a bit concerned about the ground, as he's a Flat-bred horse, and we didn't know if he'd go on it. Conor said he handled it reasonably well. They went off very quick and he stayed going well. He had a couple of good runs, and was second a couple of times, so we always felt that he was going to win a maiden hurdle of some description for us so we're glad now he did. He's only a four-year-old so hopefully he'll improve. We might look for a little novice or a handicap for him, we'll see what the handicapper says.
Well Set Up lands the odds in Roscommon
Ricky gave her a good ride. She always hits a flat spot and he nursed her through it. Two miles isn't her ideal trip but it's a nice place to start off. There is a novice hurdle and also a mares hurdle in Limerick in a couple of weeks time. We'll have a look at those and see how she is. She loves that ground.
It's as easy as Aa Bee See for Maddens
That was great. It's the first time in a long while that he's got his ground. Conditions suited him today in a low grade handicap. He lost his form last year. He was second in Tramore, then he ran in Galway in a Flat race and came home lame. We ran him in a few hurdle races but I could never get him right after. The ground suited today and the conditions of the race.
The Big Galloper lands significant gamble
He's a slow galloper but he got there anyway!. He'll go handicapping now. He had shown form on that ground before and we thought he had an each-way chance. It could have gone either way and thank God it worked out. I wouldn't like to be winning by those small margins all the time but anyway he got it done.
Djingle on an upward curve for Queally
He's learning and is beginning to cop on to himself,. He had won in France on soft so we were optimistic that he would get through it. We'll give him a break now and bring him back, maybe in November. I don't know where we'll go with him now. He likes flat tracks but I'd say we wouldn't be going to Punchestown or those places, yet anyway, as he's still learning. That was a great purse. Max couldn't get to Listowel so it was great that he got over today.
Flanagan times it just right on Russian Bill
He likes soft ground and it slowed the rest of them down. He hasn't really showed us an awful lot over fences so it was nice to see him coming back and winning something. Even though he was favourite I didn't really think he'd win to be honest and I didn't think he had won even at the line!
Swordsman leads home an Elliott one-two
He's the first proper winter horse we've ran. We've winter ground now and finished one-two so happy days,. I'd say he could go up in trip and he'll win plenty of races. It's good for Jack (Kennedy), he's only back from an injury so it's nice for him to get a winner.
Cromwell and O'Neill on right Wavelength
I didn't know whether he'd get through the ground. It's nice to get that for the owner. Hopefully it's a good start for him. It was a lovely run the first day and he didn't get the best of luck in running. He was doing his best work at the finish.
