It was a brave performance. They went too quick the last day and he didn't get home. He was more professional today, went through the gears and his experience told. He handled the ground and they got the best of it. He'll probably get further.

I didn't know if he would handle the ground. He's a smashing dual-purpose prospect, and is from a good Aga Khan family. He's developing all the time. I've been trying to run him for a few weeks and we've just had a few niggling things. A mile and a half shouldn't be a problem to him, and he won't mind better ground.

She seems to have improved again. I rang the manager Michael Finneran yesterday and he said the ground was good. I told him I had rain ordered and luckily enough it came!. Rory (Cleary) wasn't able to ride her but we had a good deputy in Robbie, and the few extra pounds off her helped. She comes out of her races very well. The plan is hopefully to get another one before the weather takes up.

She's been very unlucky. That's her fifth run over fences and she's had three falls but she's tough to come back. I thought she would have gone close in Punchestown. She could have run in Limerick but I decided to come here as the fences are a bit smaller.
