Horoscope a predictable winner for Ballydoyle
Murtagh completes cross-card treble
Johnny is making a great fist of training, he is a gifted trainer and is doing very well. I was delighted to get a winner for him on the day. The first-time cheekpieces, the little bit of juice in the ground the drop back to a mile all really helped and I'd imagine a mile and 100 yards at Galway will be right up his street.
Roca Roma scores for Lyons & Keane
It is lovely to get her back winning - we thought a lot of her but with one little problem after another, we had to take our time and let her grow into herself. We thought a lot of her, with the entries we made and the races she ran in, and ultimately we are hunting for black type. She needed to get that for her confidence. It's great to give a buzz to Jimmy and Roseleen Chute, who are here today, and who own her with Tommy Murphy and his partner, so it's a great result.
Citronnade - demoted in May, a winner today
It was very much worth the trip. She was disqualified the last day, right or wrong, but I wasn't going to appeal it. She has done that well and will be a nice filly in the autumn — she wants every bit of that soft ground and that 1m4f trip.
4/9 fav La Petite Coco duly obliges
We have her since the start of April, she was impressive here over a mile and went to Naas and ran a very nice race when I thought she showed her greenness in the closing stages. I was keen to get another race like this for her if we could and we like Killarney!. I think she'll be very effective at 1m4f and think she'll be better at four than three. I'll talk to the owners but the Oyster Stakes at Galway would look a reasonable next step. I have it in my head to go for the EP Taylor at Woodbine at the end of the year.
Lavery thrilled with progressive Sea Appeal
Fair dues to the owners, my brother John and Dave McLoughlin own him in partnership, as he was entered for the July Sales but Rory Cleary got off him the last day and said it would take a lot to beat him the next time. He is just progressing all the time, and is the most gorgeous, big, honest, galloping horse horse but he had a gear out there. He is just getting better and we're thrilled. If he keeps progressing, my gosh you could have some fun with him on the Flat but I don't know where he'll end up. I'm delighted with him.
