Permission was given for both Praise Of Shadows (IRE) and KATH’S TOYBOY to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the conduct of Michael Keady, the trainer of KATH’S TOYBOY.
The trainer was interviewed and shown a recording of the incident and found guilty of misconduct in that he had encouraged KATH’S TOYBOY, which had been reluctant at the start, by striking the gelding with a lead rein.
The trainer was fined £140.
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Kath's Toyboy (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
