Lady makes all in Ballinrobe opener
She was impressive in the end. She is very genuine and is tough little filly, she handled the track well and once she kicked on the home bend it was over.
Easy win for Granny On Fire
I'm a little bit surprised she won as well as she did as it looked a competitive little race. She missed ten days work since her last run, as she got a kick out in the paddock. If anything it probably freshened her up. She is in again at Tramore on Thursday in a handicap over a mile and a half, and she might go there but it will depend on what the handicapper does.
Crystal easily accounts for well-backed Sian
She is a consistent little filly and while I was disappointed that she got five pounds for her last run, the handicapper was proved right today. She is in again at Tramore on Thursday in a two mile handicap, and she is more than likely to go there as she wants this ground and likes tight tracks. She is owned by Gilbert de Meester, and she is the first horse he has with me. She has now won a bumper and a flat race for him.
Trap gets it right this time around
His first run in a maiden at Leopardstown was unbelievable (finished second to Unanimous in July of last year), but he absolutely went downhill after that. He obviously had the form to win today, judging by his last run, but I was just afraid after what happen after Leopardstown. He has always shown an awful lot of pace and we probably shouldn't have ever run him on the flat as he is by Dr Massini. We will find a winners race for him now and he wants ground good. He is owned by Sebastian Curran who is twenty. He also bred him and his father owns one of our better horses, Star Of Aragon. I feel sorry for Tom (Thomas Doran) today. He would have rode him tonight only for what happened the last day.
Casey gets a great tune out of Solider
David gave him some ride, it was unbelievable, he rode him like a man possessed . he must have lost his wallet! . He was second early and then dropped to sixth down the back and I'll have to thank David for getting him back up. He is tough, he likes to be in dogfight and he likes fast ground. We will keep him on the go now for a while. It is nice to win a pot like this and it is great for his owners (Richard McNally, Leo Walsh, L Murrin & John Collins), they also had Rajik with me.
Green Thirty Two justifies favouritism
Hospital runs out fortunate winner of the last
He has been very consistent and he has been knocking on the door. I don't think the favourite was home and hosed when he fell. The step up in trip from two miles to two and a half was a plus, and he'll stay on the go now for the rest of the summer. He is the only horse I have for JP.
