Success for Sovereign as McAuley bags opening claimer
Warnie's win follows ambitious Ascot assignment
Imposing Supreme in charge for Gibney
The left-haned wasn't a worry, he had run well in Killarney a few times. We thought the track would suit him and we were very confident of a big run today. He ran well in the Curragh the last day, but he just ended up having to come from a bit far back. It takes him a while to get up and get going. Yes, 100 per cent that (Galway) will be the next stop. We'll see if the handicapper gives him a chance. He's a fantastic horse to do anything with and is a real yard favourite, he's a real pet and a pleasure to have around the place.
McConnell completes cross-card double
he's just getting faster as we go along and, as we know, this is a quick five. For his third run, it was a good performance. He's a lovely horse and there's more to come and Donagh said it took an age to pull him up. He's probably only coming to himself now and is also probably on the market. He'll stay six furlongs no problem, he's fast and will probably get faster.
Busy Zig Zag Ziggy puts retirement on hold
he (Caffrey) was very good on him and, to be honest, we were going to retire him nearly after today - his form had just completely and utterly gone. I just felt with the little bit of rain it just might suit him. I was going to run him in the claimer and said 'no, I'm going to run him in the sprint' and it worked out. I knew we had form in the sprint, so it was great.
Esquiline different class to her rivals
Hard to find these fillies' only mile and a half (races). We decided to come here, a track that might not have played to her strengths. She's a big, galloping filly, she stays really well. Ben kept it straightforward.Once he got by the first bend and he was outside the leader, I knew she was going to stay well. A nice filly going forward, a bit of a work-in-progress. I think she will get better with racing and hopefully she could be one for next year as well. She's a big, raw filly and I gave her one run as a two-year-old - she was very backward but this year she is getting it together. We were kind of keen to run her against fillies this time. It is nice to get the job done, she was impressive. Charlie Noell and his daughter are over (Merriebelle Irish Farm Limited), they are spending a bit of time in Ireland at the moment. He's really enjoying it. It is something different for this man, he has owned big winners in America but this place is totally different.
Galway Plate plan for Bellewstown flat winner
I thought he could be vulnerable over the 1m4f but Conor was good on him. He'll go to Galway for the Plate. It is a little bit of a step up in trip from what he has been running over, but Galway should suit and he jumps well. It remains to be seen how well handicapped he is, but it is horses for courses and the track should suit him. It is about Galway at the moment, but winnings races on the flat is in the back of our heads.
Franno ends frustrating spell with third win
she's a funny individual and runs very in and out. She was a bit unlucky in Down Royal (in June) but the last day she ran in a hurdle race and ran no race. She is well down in the weights and she won here in the past. She actually wants further and that (1m4f) would be as short as she wants. I'd say it was a race that cut up. It was a nice race to go for, but I thought Dollar Value or a few others would beat her if they were on song. She's in at Tramore on Tuesday over two miles which might suit. If she comes out of it okay, she might go there.
