Danny & Mags bag another win with Perfect Leader
I was away on holidays (in South Africa) last week so my mother was at home doing all the hard work. She said to ride him today with a bit of confidence and thought he’d go very close. She’s not a bad judge!. He was creeping up all the time over fences, and we were keen to try and exploit the hurdle mark. Two miles seems to be his trip, and he’s gaining a lot of confidence now and hopefully we’ll get a bit more out of him. South Africa was the holiday of a lifetime. We did a riding safari for five days and also went to Victoria Falls which was amazing.
Attack set for break after chase win
He probably wasn’t as good as he was in Clonmel, and Barry thought he didn’t travel and jump as well. He’s been in quite a while and only had a short break around Christmas so we might back off him now. There is not many staying novice chases anyhow so we might back off him until October. There is a nice staying novice in Cheltenham then so we might look at that.
Peregrine Run completes four-timer in Wexford feature
He’s an unbelievable horse for the yard. Full credit to everyone at home for keeping him sound and right. He runs on hard ground day in and day out, and he’s just a sounder and happier horse this year. He might be entered in the Galway Plate, and if the ground is quick he could go there. He’s in at Leopardstown next Thursday and I’ll see how he is. I’d love to run him on the Flat as it could give us an option for Galway. If he happened to win it could give him a nice mark for the amateur handicap. Our best chance of good ground in Galway is probably the first few days. He has a nice mark over hurdles and there could be a nice day in him over hurdles if everything goes well and he stays healthy.

Star strikes on debut for breeder Meade
I bred her myself and she was ready to run when she cracked her pelvis. She’s a half-sister to Laura Bullion who won for us this year, and I’ve a few more coming along out of the mare. She will go jumping now but doesn’t want the ground too quick.
