Approximately 5f out, Watheer (GB), unplaced, hung left carrying the winner, Makambe (IRE), onto Ambersand (IRE), unplaced, which was tightened for room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Kieran O'Neill, the rider of Break The Silence (GB), placed sxith, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident and stated that the gelding had no more to give, a fact he had reported at Scales.
O'Neill was suspended for 1 day for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fifth.
Following the race, Eoin Walsh, the rider of Snow Ocean (IRE), placed seventh, and Ben Curtis, the rider of Watheer (GB), unplaced, both reported that their mounts hung left.
