An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, when Peters Pudding (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Eoin Walsh, interfered with RED’S COMET, placed eighth, ridden by Richard Kingscote, and then Pleasant Gesture (IRE), which subsequently unseated, ridden by Aaron Mackay.
Walsh was cautioned for careless riding as he maneuvered left when not sufficiently clear causing Kingscote and Mackay to take slight checks.
Aaron Mackay, the rider of Pleasant Gesture (IRE), was unseated rounding the first bend.
Mackay, Adam Kirby, the rider of Axel Jacklin (GB), Scott McCullagh, the rider of Arcadian Rocks (IRE), and Joshua Bryan, the rider of Grandstand (IRE), were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that the incident was accidental and the result of Arcadian Rocks (IRE) edging slightly right off the rail at the same time as Grandstand (IRE) edged slightly left, resulting in Pleasant Gesture (IRE), who was running keenly and being corrected from hanging left by Mackay, clipping heels with Grandstand (IRE) and unseating Mackay.
Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Morro Castle (GB), placed seventh, ran green and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was lame on it right fore.
Toby Eley reported that Elieden (IRE), placed second, was very slowly away.
