Assemble scores over fences for O'Brien/Blackmore
Farmix makes a winning start over fences
He’s a lovely big baby and it was only his fourth run over obstacles so I was a bit nervous as to whether he’d be street wise enough to go on and make it. He jumped into the air a bit early on but got the hang of it as he went along. An extra half-mile might suit. He has such a big stride and kind of has to make the running. That’s his way of being competitive is to go out and gallop. He’ll improve mentally as much as anything.
"One more go" yields career best from Classic Concorde
He was going to win a hurdle race this time last year in Down Royal and he absolutely reefed a hind leg off himself jumping the last,.
No trouble for Sneaky as he goes 2 from 2 over hurdles
He’s been a great servant for the yard and that’s his sixth win. We’re delighted and it’s good to get him back going again,. He got injured after his maiden hurdle win in Roscommon, and hopefully he can go up a bit in grade now. A lot of people were worried about his jumping because he was a seven-year-old who went on the Flat but we just hadn’t schooled him. It’s never been an issue and he’s always been a good jumper.
Royal Kahala going up the ranks at a rate of knots
I was a bit worried coming here as she’s after having three quick runs. She’s schooled well and done everything grand. I think she’s a very nice filly,.
Dravins and Scanlon win again at Fairyhouse in November
We took a chance and went for this instead of the mares race which looked good. Her 7lb allowance cancelled out her 7lb penalty for winning a bumper and thankfully it’s worked out,. She had a mark of 115 and hopefully we can go for a handicap. We made a mistake running her over 2m6f in Punchestown as she didn’t get home. We dropped her right back and hopefully she’ll keep improving.
Bumper Flat and now hurdle wins for Oscar
We probably fell into the easier division but we’ll take it,. We’ll probably go handicapping now as I don’t think he’s good enough for novices.
Fahey and Sexton double up with Flemensfirth mares at Fairyhouse
She’s a handy little filly and I’m delighted for Tim Delaney (owner) who has a couple of coffee shops in Portlaoise. We’ll see what the handicapper does. I’m not sure if she’ll keep going through the real winter ground and she might get a break and come back in the spring. She jumps quick which is a big help to her but she’ll have to settle a bit better to improve. Kevin gave her a great ride and gets on well with her. She battled back well today.
