FormscanBy Mark Nunan - An extra furlong would be optimal for MERISI DIAMOND but underfoot conditions should make this enough of a test for Joanna Morgan’s progressive five-year-old. Well handicapped when winning over course and distance in March, he has gone up another 14lb in total for a pair of 7f victories at Roscommon in recent weeks. A big impost won't bother this powerfully-built son of Caravaggio who relishes testing ground. Jon Riggens is coming down to an attractive mark and wasn't beaten far at Naas last time. Bid For Chester, a winner over 5f here on heavy ground in April, is also slipping down the ratings and this trip will suit better than the 7f over which he was third at Naas. %0A%0A%0A
An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (80 = 10st)Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.

Quotes on Merisi Diamond (IRE)
He's just a very good horse when he has conditions to suit. I ran him, because he was so well, on good to yielding ground but he's different gravy on that sort of ground. He's massive and he'll be even better next year. He's 17-1 and fellas are saying to me 'why don't you go jumping?' but he's a Flat horse, a six and seven furlong horse - he ain't a jumper. He's a nice horse to deal with but I'm nearly afraid of him at home because he's well and fresh and big. He'd knock you over very quick. He's grand, but we have to bring him into the parade ring late because he gets so excited and he'd kick someone. It was great, he gave him a great ride. After Merisi Diamond (IRE) finished 1st at Roscommon on Mon, 14th Oct 2024 7f Flat Hcap Soft

Quotes on Jon Riggens (IRE)
Over the five on this sort of ground, especially the way the track is riding the last few days with the wind, he’s been struggling to make up the ground. I sent Dave Mason down to the gate with him today as he gets a bit buzzy with the open spaces here. When you ride them for luck it’s exactly what it says on the tin. If he hit the front a furlong down then I won’t use the jockey again and also he won’t finish in the first three. That’s the way he is. The other horse went out heart on his sleeve. I love both horses and it’s hard when one beats the other but at least one of them has won. They will come back here next month for the Bold Lad.After Jon Riggens (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 20th Aug 2023 6f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Miss Black Jack (GB)
To be fair, I think Wesley spoke to Nathan (Crosse) on the way up and Nathan gave exactly the same ride but we got done by Johnny Feane's good improver (Ohailbhic). We were expecting at least a top three finish. I didn't expect her to do it that easily now - the five off her back and she is improving away. Her siblings have improved at three and hopefully she follows the same route. I thought I'd win with her as a two-year-old. We didn't - we went to Newcastle and we got beaten. I was keen that we got the job done here. I might take her to Wolverhampton for a fillies' handicap next Saturday. She has won well there, so we will see what we get in the weights. There is no let up in rain and I probably wouldn't even run her on yielding, she skips along. The future is bright, she is a good horse. After Miss Black Jack (GB) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 5th Apr 2024 6f Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Bid For Chester (IRE)
He's a very genuine little horse. The syndicate are local to me and I'm delighted for them. He ran well in he Madrid, I actually thought we had a bit in hand there but he ran into one. We took a chance today coming back in trip. If I didn't bring him here I had to bring him somewhere else to work him so I said I'd run for the money and get a pipe opener. He'll probably go to Navan for the Listed race (Committed Stakes) next Saturday, all going well. He's been tipping away in big pots and we were a little bit unlucky in one of the big sales races at the backend of the year, we just didn't get a clear run. Hopefully it's onwards and upwards with him. After Bid For Chester (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 20th Apr 2024 5f Flat Heavy

Quotes on Dagoda (IRE)
It's all about Leigh Roche this week, he's riding out of his skin,. He spoke to Seamie (Heffernan) and he let him know how to ride her. It was unfortunate for Seamie as he's suspended but Leigh is an able deputy and it was a great ride. Quotes on Salah Belle (IRE)
She was just very gassy the last day over seven,. I'm delighted, she did that very nicely. She's a very straightforward filly but she just has no patience for hanging around here (in the winners enclosure). There is a race for her in Fairyhouse but I'll have to see what the handicapper does. The guys thought she'd get seven last time and that's why I ran her and maybe if she settled she would, but I think it's just easier to keep her at six at the moment. I'm thrilled for her and thrilled for Claire. After Salah Belle (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Wed, 5th Jun 2024 6f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on The Organiser (GB)
They are two nice sprinters. Nordic has lost his way but he’s shown signs on his last few runs. The Organiser is a new recruit in the yard and I’m still trying to figure him out. He’s getting quicker and physically starting to look like a sprinter. He was a little bit flat-footed last week and it was another home game here and I thought I’d roll the dice again and he’d learn more about sprinting. Wayne has caught my eye a few times and I rang Kevin O’Ryan (agent) on Tuesday and said I’d only run if Wayne was available as he had 10st7lb. He’s a good kid. After The Organiser (GB) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 20th Aug 2023 6f Flat Hcap Good

On his form with John (Grogan) earlier on, he was entitled to do that. He's down a long way in the weights. It was nice to get a win and it is his first run in the lads' colours, they have leased him off John. They are from Thurles and Limerick. He did that well and settled very well. It looks like the blinkers worked and Darragh is a good, up-and-coming jockey so we were lucky to get him with his 7lb claim. A few of the boys, Seamie Heffernan and Leigh Roche, who rode him on his last few runs said he wasn't trying very hard and to try the blinkers, so they were spot on.
