Permission was given for Dr Rio (FR) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood and for DON’T WHAT ME BOY (IRE) to also go early to post wearing a red hood.
The Starter reported that Red Command (IRE) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Tracy Waggott was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Red Command (IRE) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Nazca (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed causing the rider of Annalee Lass (IRE), unplaced, to be crowded for room and take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Our Dickie (IRE), unplaced, hung both ways and Kieran O’Neill reported that DON’T WHAT ME BOY (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run on several occasions from 2 furlongs out.
Daniel Muscutt reported that Agonyclite (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, weakened quickly approaching the final furlong and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
