Permission was given for Heure de Gloire (FR) to go to post early.
Prior to this race, the representative of Philip Hobbs was asked to explain why they were running Crossing The Bar (IRE) here at Ffos Las on going described as Soft, Heavy in places, having reported that the gelding would prefer a quicker surface following its run on Soft, Heavy in places ground at Wincanton on 8 January 2022.
The trainer’s explanation was that in hindsight Crossing The Bar (IRE) may have resented the kickback from the Soft, Heavy in places ground at Wincanton, and due to this they plan if possible to ride the gelding more prominently in today’s race.
Following the race, David Bass reported that Those Tiger Feet (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
