The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. P.W. Mullins, Authorised Representative for W.P. Mullins, trainer of Winter Fog and B. Hayes rider, after it appeared that Winter Fog crossed the parade ring after being mounted

Evidence was heard from B. Hayes,who stated that his mount had passed the parade ring exit after the bell had gone, that he was the last rider to mount and that as his mount can be difficult, he did not want to get left behind

Mr. P.W. Mullins did not have anything further to offer when asked. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that B. Hayes was in breach of Regulation 16 and having considered his record (first offence under R16), they fined him €100 on this occasion. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that W.P. Mullins was in breach of Regulatiion 16 and having considered his record (second offence under R16), they fined him €200 on this occasion through his Authorised Representative.
