Tulpar makes up for lost time at 16/1
He’s a lovely horse and we got him after Listowel. We’ve been tipping away with him. He’s a beautiful type of a horse, a real chaser. He’s owned by a lovely women (Carol Ginn Mole), a lady, who loves the game and loves racing. I wanted to run him at Christmas but she said to me about three weeks before it that she was going to England. I said if she wasn’t around I wouldn’t run the horse so we waited for here and picked this race. He jumped well. If the (omitted) second last had been in it would have suited us a bit better but he fought back well. He gave him a great ride. I’ve nothing planned after today. We’ll take it step by step. He liked that ground. He’s a big horse and you’d imagine he’ll go on heavy ground. These big galloping tracks suit him. There might be something in Leopardstown towards the end of the month. He was placed there last year. He ran a great race over hurdles one day when fourth behind Golantilla in a maiden hurdle so that’s an option also.

Conyngham Cup win for veteran Canaly
That’s great. He’s back in business , not bad for an old boy. He ran very well in Limerick but now that he’s a little bit older he’s not quickening up. So we just thought we’d try him over this trip even though he hadn’t run over it in a long time. Derek gave him a super ride. He gave him a little bit of light out on a little bit better ground and he said he really enjoyed it. It’s lovely for the owner Mr Moore. He’s had so much patience as this horse has broken down twice. He’s given him the time to come back each time. It’s paid off today. Now that I know he does stay he has a lot more options. He probably needs the three miles now as he’s more comfortable going that pace.

Second causes another upset in Moscow Flyer
It's a pleasant surprise again but not as big a surprise as the first day. I would have been disappointing if he didn't run well. I was quite happy turning into the straight that he was going to be a good third with two fair horses in front of him. When he got by Gordon’s horse I thought Ruby had a bit more in the tank but he joined him and he's done it well. It's a sharp two miles around here and I was worried about that. It was basically a winners of one. It was down as a Grade 2 but every one of them had won one race. It's a sharp track but his jumping was very good. I thought a few times during the race he was going as quick as he wanted to be and I said to young Ted 'he'll get caught out if he misses one'. He was good though. It's only the second run of his life and he's come from having a tour around in a maiden hurdle at Navan to racing so it was a big step up. If he had gone to Navan fancied and got a few slaps you'd say he learned something but he cruised there to win. It's great to have him and the right man has him as he won't be for sale. He could be a very good horse. He's a big raw sort of a horse and I'll leave plans to Frank and JP. They have loads of ammunition and I'm sure they won't be rushing him.

Sergeant has too many guns for Kolumbus
He deserved that. He got a nice lead and jumped very well. He was a bit unlucky at Christmas when he made a mistake at the last. He was trying to give the winner 14lb which is quite a task in very heavy ground. I’m not sure if he actually needs it as heavy as that at all. I would say he needs a bit further but he was leery in front. We’ll go on and try and win another one with him. I’d say they went very quick. Tom Mullins was standing beside me and said ‘these two will stop. They have to as everybody else is off the bridle the whole way so they have to stop’. He won so that was the main job today. I’d say better ground might help as he won his bumper on goodish ground. He was travelling well when falling in Gowran and then ran in a Grade One. He ran too free the first day back at Fairyhouse when he was running away the whole way. Then he just got touched off in Limerick and won today. He’s alright and hopefully will keep going on.

O'Farrell gains deserved win on Ruby
I’m riding freelance and ride work for Enda Bolger, Willie Mullins, Gordon (Elliott) and Shay Barry as well. She’s a grand honest mare. I thought the trip was too short and the ground too soft. It was her first run back and I thought she’d come on from it so it was grand and everyone is happy. She could compete in some of those long distance handicap chases again. She won over fences here last year.

Fintara sends punters home happy
Sally Rowley-Williams owns Special Tiara and that’s the first winner she’s had in Ireland in over four years as Special Tiara has only won in England. This filly had a nice run first time out and then had a wind operation after she ran in Naas. It seems to have done the trick. I was taking a chance running her today because she was a bit undercooked. It was a mares race and the next mares bumper was at Fairyhouse on the inside track. I just prefer this one. That’s the reason we came here and it paid off so it’s great. I’m delighted as it’s my first winner for Sally and she has a couple of other horses with me, so hopefully it’s the start. I’d say we’ll head over hurdles. There is a Listed bumper, she might run in that, but I’d say we’ll head on over hurdles. She’s only just turned five now and she’s a nice mare. Better ground would probably suit although Kayf Taras go on anything really. As she gets stronger she’ll go on softer ground. She’s a biggish mare.
