Right Or Wrong set a solid pace as a bunch of four horses stretched clear from an early stage. Serpentaria, available at 11/8 in the morning and backed down to odds-on, took it up after three out. She soon had her three closest rivals in trouble and, jumping much better than on her successful hurdling debut at Thurles, drew right away for a stylish success. Mullins confirmed afterwards that two and a half miles will hold no terror for his charge, and she holds a number of possible engagements at the Punchestown Festival.

Slievecorragh, a creditable fifth in the Grade 1 at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day, was not fluent at the final two flights but still got the better of Right Or Wrong for second spot. Francis Flood's charge will be an experienced novice for next season if failing to win in the coming weeks.

Zephyr Lilly was the first of the leading group to crack after three out, while the eye-catcher from the 'chasing' pack was Solwhit. A hurdle winner already in France, this was a nice introductory outing for new trainer Charles Byrnes, staying on from a remote position over half a mile out.
