The Stewards interviewed P. Carberry, rider of Mallards In Flight, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found P. Carberry in breach of Reg 10 4 by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and having considered his record the Stewards suspended him for two race days. P. Townend, rider of Ibetellingyoualie trained by Terence O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left throughout. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Its The Ice I Like, trained by Robert Tyner, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a nasal discharge of mucus post race, probably as a result of swallowing kickback, but was otherwise Post Race Normal. A.P. McCoy, rider of Its The Ice I Like, trained by Robert Tyner, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase before 4th May 2014, other than one hunters steeplechase within the previous two National Hunt seasons. (123 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Any horse rated above 123 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 123 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four or five year old rated above 123 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
