The Stewards enquired into an incident where the runners met the running rail having jumped the third last hurdle involving Futurum Regem, ridden by E. Walsh, unplaced, Orlov, ridden by J.R. Wildman, a faller at this point, Theatre Of War, ridden by J.M. Moore, placed second, Tronador, ridden by K. Brogan, placed fourth and Cosmic Jazz, ridden by P.E. Corbett, unplaced, where it appeared that some of the horses ran short of room and Orlov fell as a consequence. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and from the Clerk of the Course Lorcan Wyer

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference that took place was accidental in nature and took no further action

K. Brogan, rider of Tronador, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference after the third last hurdle, lost his placing and made up a lot of ground from that incident to finish fourth

E. Walsh, rider of Futurum Regem, trained by Hugh Paul Finegan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference after the third last hurdle and got unbalanced

The Stewards interviewed J.M. Moore, rider of Theatre Of War, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.M. Moore was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.M. Moore for 2 racedays.
