Permission was given for Talamanca (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Leaving the stalls, La Mia Dutchessa (IRE), placed third, jumped slightly left-handed as Talamanca (GB), placed second, shifted marginally right-handed causing Poppy Carrew (IRE), unplaced, to become short for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either La Mia Dutchessa (IRE) or Talamanca (GB).
The winner, Ignac Lamar (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 4 August 2022 where the gelding finished last of eleven, beaten by 7 lengths.
Rod Millman’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from the drop in grade from Class 4 to Class 5, as well as the drop in trip from 7 furlongs to 6 furlongs, was noted.
Ignac Lamar (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Shane Kelly reported that Poppy Carrew (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference leaving the stalls and Taylor Fisher reported that YOU BEE SEE (IRE), unplaced, hung badly right-handed.
