He has a serious appetite for racing and is an unbelievable horse to have in the yard. He loves it here. It might not have seemed that likely in the dip but as soon as he meets the rising ground, he grows another leg. He’s had a tough week and he could tell you what the traffic has been like coming up here this week! I’d imagine he’s earned a little break now and we can start planning for next year. Horses for courses, he loves it here and it’s a special place for the Mees. He’ll definitely target it again next year.

That was magic and he is a lovely lovely horse who has improved all the time since we got him. I thought he won his maiden hurdle very nicely at Ballinrobe and when we were entering for this, I thought it was a longshot although top weight Daddy Long Legs came out, so we snuck in at the bottom. He is a particularly good jumper, loves soft ground and has won a beautiful pot for fantastic owners. The syndicate is headed by Vincent Casey, they are very loyal and fantastic people. They love Listowel so will enjoy this moment.

I think it was a very fair decision and I would have been very disappointed if they didn't change it around,. I would have bet 1/20 that he would have got it and Colin (Keane) thought that after the race as well. You just can't knock the horse down and hope to get away with it. It was the right decision. She was coming back at him as well, she was almost on the ground and it's lucky no-one was hurt.

He is only furnishing into himself - he is a big, raw horse by a good sire in Make Believe. I think he is a very underrated stallion. I love him and they are all very honest and try hard, no-nonsense type of horses. That's exactly what he is. He just needs to furnish into himself and he needs to strengthen. I thought he had grown up a bit mentally over the winter from his previous run in Gowran and was looking forward to seeing how he'd run but I couldn't honestly say I thought he'd win. Fast Companys generally handle that ground and we were banking on that. I told him (Ronan Whelan) to ride him with a bit of patience and to finish well. In that grade they can't keep it up if they go too fast early on.
