Slapper raised a cheer during Limerick's well attended Student Raceday today, arriving late to win the €5 After Five Handicap, for trainer Paul Flynn and jockey Padraig Beggy.

Three to one favourite Tsar Paul looked set 'to collect' a furlong out but Slapper, a seven time winner of €140,000 in his native Italy, picked up well to get his nose in front close home, for a head win over the 'jolly'.

Flynn was not present for Slapper's, a brother to Dermot Weld's 113 rated Libano, win.
