Monbeg Worldwide was too good for the opposition in Roscommon's bumper as he delivered by five and a half lengths.
Having won a point-to-point in Lismore in March, this was his first assignment for Gordon Elliott.
Jamie Codd sent his mount past Fairwood Notorious approaching the straight and the pair galloped clear coming to the final furlong.
He was kept up to his work to justify 1/2 favouritism by five and a half lengths. Whiskey In The Jar tried to chase him down in the final furlong but had to settle for second at 12/1. Mr Showtime (7/2) completed the placings. He was beaten 10 lengths by the winner.
"He’s a smart horse and I think a good bit of him. He won’t get much this year. He’s a very smart horse,” Gordon Elliott said.
“I’d like to just mind him and take him to Naas for the 2m3f winners bumper in the new year.
“He’s a horse, as you can see from the size of him, is only a shell. He’s over 17 hands and just doesn’t want much this year.”
This win gave Gigginstown and Elliott a double on the card following on from Death Duty in the maiden hurdle.
