Mill Quest landed a gamble as she ran out an easy winner of the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Mares Handicap Hurdle.

The Terence O'Brien trained six-year-old was available at 16/1 last night, opening on-course at 8's before going off a 6/1 chance under David Splaine.

Having her eighth start in handicap company, the daughter of Milan was settled in second, going clear after the fourth last.

Her advantage was reduced after the last, but she still came home with four lengths to spare. Pixie's Lot finished second at 16/1 under Jonathan Burke for Peter Fahey, while Ice Ice Bay (14/1) was sixteenth lengths back in third under Ricky Doyle for Frank Oakes. Artists Daughter (12/1) completed the placings a further fifteen lengths back in fourth under Ben Dalton for Nicky Stokes.

Recent Wexford winner Definite Income was sent off the 7/2 favourite (from 9/2) and he finished fifth under Brian Hayes for John Kiely.

Terence O'Brien said afterwards: "She is related to some good horses and while I always thought she would be decent enough, she was just disappointing.

"She was always working well at home and we've tried everything with her on the track but she kept disappointing. Hopefully there will be another one or two in her now."

The winner is owned by the Coolglen Syndicate, and is half-sister to winners Glenquest, Cool Quest, Mister Hyde, and Realta Mo Croi.
