After turning for home Lots Of Memories (14/1) pulverised his opposition in the Grade B handicap hurdle over three miles and gave his owners Siobhain Fahey and John Breen a big payday.
Shane Butler sent him on coming to the second last and he drew further and further clear of the rest and hit the winning line six and a half lengths ahead of the staying on Our Man Zebo (16/1). Our Katie at 11/1 and Wounded Warrior (5/1) were third and fourth respectively.
“That was brilliant, it’s great to see him back to himself. Last time he was very disappointing as he stopped very quickly. The break seems to have done him the world of good as he travelled all the way and jumped well. When I asked him to pick up he did and put lengths on them. There’s a Grade 1 in Punchestown now and that will tell us how good he is,” jockey Shane Butler said.
Trainer Paul Fahey added: “I was more than quietly confident. He had form on goodish ground. He finished well in Galway on it. I think I over-raced him on heavy ground. He was running so well it was hard to pull the plug on him as he kept getting graded placed. He’ll probably run in the three mile Grade 1 at Punchestown, it’s a novice race. We might get graded placed. I have all the family at home.”
