Sadies Trix (9/1 into 9/2) gave Peter Fahey and Kevin Sexton a Fairyhouse double in the concluding Boynesider Office Furniture Handicap Hurdle.
Earlier on the mark with the impressive Royal Kahala Fahey and Sexton here saw their Flemensfirth mare Sadies Trix follow up on a Clonmel win from October 29th.
This could have went one of several ways until late on, and eventual third Vitudurum was impeded on the run-in. The judge’s placings were only confirmed following a steward’s enquiry.
Royal Kahala and Sadies Trix are both by Flemensfirth and Fahey cut a contended figure in the aftermath, saying: “She’s a handy little filly and I’m delighted for Tim Delaney (owner) who has a couple of coffee shops in Portlaoise.
“We’ll see what the handicapper does. I’m not sure if she’ll keep going through the real winter ground and she might get a break and come back in the spring.
“She jumps quick which is a big help to her but she’ll have to settle a bit better to improve. Kevin gave her a great ride and gets on well with her. She battled back well today.”
The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Dessie's Diamond ridden by D.F. O'Regan, placed second, Sadies Trix, ridden by K.C. Sexton, placed first and Vitudurum, ridden by M.J. Bolger, placed third, where it appeared that Vitudurum was tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.
