Liz Doyle's Cacheofgold found Bashful Beauty (owner Paul Mullins and trainer Norman Lee) too good at Wexford on Friday evening but she reversed placings with the same connections Supreme Vic when landing the Download The Tote Mobile App European Breeders Fund Mares Handicap Hurdle at Galway.

The Jonathan Burke-ridden Cacheofgold got the better of Supreme Vic (Shane Shortall put up a couple of pounds overweight) by a length and three parts. The well-backed Lily The Lioness ran on well for the third spot, half a length back.

Unfortunately Theonewiththeleg was a fatality after a first flight departure.

Doyle reported: "She ran well in Wexford but she was a little 'short' as she'd had a growth removed from the back of her larynx.

"I felt the track here would suit as she's a grand hardy mare.

"I took a bit of punt running her back quickly but I felt she had an each-way chance. She got a beautiful, beautiful ride."

Meanwhile this was an initial Festival success for Burke who said: "It's great – just brilliant to have a winner here after turning pro over two months back.

"The Connacht National win on Golden Kite gave me a great start and this one is a very tough mare who stayed on well to finish second at Wexford.

"She jumped great and she was always finding plenty in front." (AM & EM)
