Eoin Doyle’s Bardo Contiguo (10/1) stretched away in the final furlong to land the second split of the Junction Handicap at Tipperary.
The four-year-old gelding was strong at the business end and drew three and three quarter lengths clear of Youceeyouceecee (16/1). The gambled-on Sagittarius Rising got his backers an each-way dividend in third at 9/1, backed down from 22/1.
Jockey Mikey Sheehy said: "He jumped nice and smart and I got a lovely lead into the race. He quickened well in the end and did it nicely.
"He ran into a bit of traffic the last day but we got a lovely clear run today."
The Stewards requested a report from Eoin Doyle, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Bardo Contiguo, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Michael Moran, authorised representative for the trainer stated that his charge got a bad bump at Listowel on the 24th of September and did not travel thereafter and was eased. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.
