J.P. McManus completed a four-timer at Navan today with his last being well-backed Donkey Years, the hard-held winner of the Proudstown Handicap Chase, and whom edged the award for the owner's easiest winner of the day. Sat 13th Mar
Donkey Years wins easily on debut for Eric and Conor McNamara
Racecourse debutant Donkey Years (50s into 33/1 on course) was an easy seven length winner of the Charleville Cheese Maiden Hurdle with the 6/4 favourite Fag An Bealach in second place. Tecumseh Sherman (10/3) was three quarters of a length further back in third place. Sun 08th Dec
After race at Listowel Wed, 25th Sep, 2024 (1st) 
We're delighted with that. He's been a good servant over the years and he's so much better handicapped over hurdles than fences so it was nice to get one with him,. He had promised a couple of times when he was placed but he was just very disappointing the last day. It's good that he's back and showed a nice bit of sparkle there. Mark said he was even keen at one or two points in the race. It's great to have a winner in those colours. I'd like to have one crack at the Munster National with him. Maybe before today I might have struggled to be allowed to enter him but he will be entered in it now, that's for certain.

After race at Punchestown Sat, 30th Apr, 2022 (1st)
That was nice, he's been placed on his last three runs and he's been very consistent,. I thought Mark (Walsh) was superb on him today. They went very quick early on, he kept travelling well and jumping well. When you go down to the last upsides one of Willie Mullins' you always think you are in trouble but thanks be to God he came out on top. I wouldn't mind having a few more like him, he's the best I have and a lovely horse. It's a great thrill to train a winner for the great JP McManus as well.

After race at Navan Sat, 13th Mar, 2021 (1st)
he won a maiden hurdle first time out and we thought he was a lovely horse but he took a long time to get his act together jumping wise. He made a lot of mistakes the last few days but he jumped great today and I'd say that was the difference. He seemed to be a lot more confident today and jumped really well. I'd say it was a very poor contest but he couldn't do any more than win it and he won well. I'm delighted. We'll look for something similar. I thought he wanted a bit of better ground but he seemed to handle it.

After race at Cork Sun, 8th Dec, 2019 (1st)
it was a good performance and he did it well, . We liked him a lot and while we didn't think he'd do that, he was showing us a lot at home and we like him. His dam is a sister to Rock On Ruby so is obviously well bred and he jumped great and travelled well and hopefully he has a future. He must have had niggly problems as he is a five year old going on six but I only have him for four or five months and he is a fine big good looking horse and is a good horse. I don't know where we go next but we'll find a winners' race for him somewhere. It is nice to have a nice horse.
