e’s a course specialist and loves it here. He won his maiden hurdle here, he’s been second at the Festival and he won on this day last year. He’ll probably go to the November meeting now at Cheltenham at around that trip. He needs a galloping track and couldn’t cope with Listowel (last time).

We had to get a handicap mark last year when he was rated 34 and we were struggling to get him into a race so we ran him in a conditions race before going back over hurdles. He likes an ease in the ground and while he isn't so much a summer horse, he likes nice ground and we'll have fun with him through the summer. He'll go to Punchestown now for a hurdle.

I'm delighted with him. He's just been crying out all summer for a big galloping track,. He'll stay further next year. He might get another couple of runs, I wouldn't run him this year on very heavy ground. He'll go away for the winter and come back in the spring. Next summer he'll go two-and-a-half. He's still very babyish. Robbie had to ride him into the hurdles all the way down the back. He stayed on really well and jumped super. He made one mistake early on, they went quick and I'd say he was just inexperienced. He's getting there, he's a big horse.

I've always thought he was a really good horse and I was dying to run him on the Flat but he's only rated 34 and I couldn't get him into anything. He was to run in Cork but he went ballistic in the box going down and trod on his shoe. He's actually still got staples in his forehead. I said we'd come here near home and he might get to the racecourse without committing suicide!. I schooled him last week and he jumped wonderfully but I had no idea whether he'd stay. He was ridden handily and made a slight mistake at the second last but Paddy said he was only getting going. Suddenly he just picked up. It's great for John O'Hagan as he has two horses with me and the other one is Charcor which finished third in a maiden at Tipperary the other night. I have no idea how good a race that was but we'll go for a novice now. He obviously loves good ground. I might put him into a Flat race also.
